As part of a push to have more people doing interesting and way cool stuff at COFA, Dorkbot will be kicking off the 2014 season of ‘people doing strange things with electricity’ next week. If you’re not familiar with Dorkbot, it’s a worldwide memetic event, loosely based around hackers, artists, musicians, engineers, or anyone else that has a passing interest in circuit bending, 3D printers, physical computing and generally breaking electronics.
Long-term Dorkbot Overlord, Pia has not only convinced me to become an Overlord In Training, but somehow managed to get me to present my research at the first event next week. At the very least, it will be nice to speak about the technical side of my work, rather than the academic carry on that seems to be the bulk of my discussions in the past.
Come along, have a chat and if you’re working on anything interesting, feel free to bring it to the Dorkbot show-and-tell. Also check out the callout dates for 2014 and if you’d like to be one of our presenters this year, get in touch.
